"campaign finance."
Maybe he'll take this all the way to our "new" SCOTUS and clean up this CFRC (campaign finance reform crap)once and for all.

>>There must be some substantial evidence to take such an important Congressman.<<
So, if he is indicted he must be guilty? Yeah, right. Just ask O.J, and Michael The Pedophile. Conspiracy charges are relatively difficult to prove. The Hammer's biggest problem is that he will face an Austin jury full of RATS.
Even if convicted by a hand-picked jury of Dimwit activists, there is always the appeal process. This is going to take a while, so everybody just relax.
Given the congressman's recent comments about having trimmed the budget to the bone, this might actually be a favor done for true conservatives.

I would have loved to see Tancredo fill the slot. HAHAHAHAHAAHAH! Yeah, the GOP is going to elevate some grandstanding megalomaniac to a leadership position especially when all Tancredo does is trash other members of the party.

The word sounds frightening. But it really is the legal equivalent of a formal accusation. And in a criminal case, the D.A has to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Liberals are Stuck on Stupid. Tom DeLay can resign tomorrow, it won't matter one bit. The Democrat party is based on cults of personality, a la the Clintons and Kennedys, but the Republican Party isn't. It's bigger than any one person. Democrats have never figured this out. They still don't understand why we didn't fall apart after they got Newt Gingrich and then Bob Livingston, because after all they fell apart when we got Jim Wright. They don't understand why we didn't lose the Senate after they nailed Trent Lott for making dumb comments at a birthday party. They don't understand why Karl Rove hasn't resigned yet. And they are still paying for their cult-of-personality defense of Bill Clinton, when they would have been better off throwing him under the bus and letting Al Gore become President. They can never sacrifice the person for the party, but Republicans always do.
So whatever happens to Tom DeLay, it won't make a damn bit of difference in what the House does or what happens in the 2006 elections. This is about campaign finance, not abuse of power or position by DeLay. The Democrats cannot make an issue out of it except in DeLay's district.

Dreier is soothing and polished on TV. We'll be fine. We don't need soothing and polished from the House Majority Leader; that's why we have Hastert as Speaker. We need someone willing to break RINOs like DeLay used to do. Yea first the Dem start start the attach on Rep. today and pull off this BS indictment on Delay then Hastert finishes the job for Dem and the Rep base gets hung out to Dreier

Anyone on this forum know the difference between an indictment and a conviction? No wonder many think the GOP is spineless. An activist prosecutor who is a fund raiser for the Democrats indicts DeLay and the SEC is looking into a stock transaction of Frist and many here are tucking their tail between their legs and running for the tall grass. Don't want to sound confrontational here but truthfully you make me sick
You can say that again ....
