There must be some substantial evidence to take such an important Congressman.

You obviously know nothing about Texas politics or Travis County (peoples republic of Austin) District A$$hole Attorney Ronnie Earle.

With all due respect, TD should have seen this one coming a mile away. Who will be his replacement?

I do not like being called a fool, and as for voting for someone. That is my choice. I will not vote of any politico who is under such a cloud. I hope he calls for a speedy trial and is vindicated, but until then he needs to step down and deal with this matter.

this the same partisan lunatic texas prosecutor that does this nusance indictments all the time.

The man should be disbarred if so.

The http://www.texasbar.com page has the official site for filing a bar complaint about the prosecutor!

The OFFICIAL complaint form is here:
http://www.texasbar.com/Template.cfm?Section=Client_Attorney_Assistance&Template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=3961

FAQ: about Grievances are here in addition to the Rules of conduct:

http://www.texasbar.com/Template.cfm?Section=Client_Attorney_Assistance&CONTENTID=3367&TEMPLATE=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm

He should not be allowed to use his office for this type of Partisan BS. He is one person that no longer needs to be a lawyer.

Politically motivated move by Ronnie Earle, a Demon'rat. He has been after Delay for years.

Lets not get are feathers ruffled, if this happened to a rat they would already swept it under the rug.

The MSM will put the worst possible spin on this, so lets just see what REALLY happens.

I think not. Delay's Houston District is an obscenely GOP rich district. Delay may be vulnerable if he faced a Ralph Hall type Dem, but Chris Bell is no Ralph Hall.

" When they started to amend the rule to allow members to retain their position through the course of due process so that politically motivated indictments would not topple leaders, the democrats and the media of course decried such a scandalous rule change. Of course they never bothered to mention that this type of indictment would not affect a democrat since the democrats have no such ethics rules against themselves"

Time to demand that the Dems adopt the EXACT same rule.

>>Hastert is nominating or suggesting or recommending Drier to the House GOP.<<

"Denny needs to have his head examined"

Agree.

It has to make one wonder what the hell is going on.

Interesting DeLay just happens to get indicted on the last day of the grand jury investigation. What's he guilty of? Helping Republicans win in Texas? I'd love to see Earle build a criminal conspiracy case out of what's legitimate politics. As for influencing - heck that goes with the territory and its not a crime unless money was exchanged under the table.

Why? How do we know who holds the most sway with the GOP House members? It just might be Drier. I'd love to know who DeLay would choose. Again, that person might be Drier.

FOX News is saying he is stepping down. Admission of guilt?

No. It is not. It's simply following the GOP House leadership rules. IIRC the Democrats never put themselves under such a rule.

And in my opinion their flaw is to prove that they are not mouthpieces for the administration. In doing so they start sounding like everyone else. Bush definitely warrants some criticism but these guys have the need to show us how "smart" they are.

It is truly amazing how many of the "Conservative Establishment" who claim to Ronald Reagan's intellectual grandchildren seem so eager to forget Reagan's 11th Commandment.

Thou shall speak no ill of other Republicans.

They are busy giving credibility to the Hate Bush Left and wonder why they continually lose the political PR wars! It does not show how "smart" they are, quite the opposite in fact. We really are the STUPID party some days.
