who says the party not in power can't still advance its agenda?

The party in power that either unwittingly or knowingly assists by doing nothing to stop them.

He is hilarious, so much for the "conservative press", they are no match for their NY DNC press betters, who kick their asses everyday.

I told Podheretz that in an email recently.

The Libs are not messing around. On every issue, Judges, the war, the hurricanes everything is politicized. Dems have been cheap shotting Republicans for a long time. Conservatives must respond in kind. Time for the stone throwing Dems in the House and Senate to be put under the microscope.

Charlie Schumer and the Libs are already looking through Republican candidates credit reports. Enough is enough. No more new tone B.S. Time for Republicans at all levels to FINALLY fight back. Dems need to be held responsible for everything they SAY and DO. No Liberal slander can go unchallenged. For example, where is the Congressional Republican outrage when Charlie Rangel compared Bush to Bull Connor?

When Liberals want an 'honest' discussion about race let's have one. Point out that affirmative action is in itself racist.

On the war, ask the carping hissy fit Dems what their plan is? Do they have one? or are they trying to have it both ways like Kerry? Make them state whether they stand with Cindy Sheehan/ Michael Moore or with America. That goes for Chuck Hagel RINOs as well.

And as an opening salvo, GWB needs to nominate Luttig or Janice Rogers Brown to the Supreme Court. If Senator Chappaquiddick doesn't like it. Tough. He is in no position to sit in judgment of anybody.

Enough of being on the defensive.

Would this be such a huge loss?

Maybe the RINOs will be the ones to see that there IS pork in the budget. McLame is all over it in the Senate, just need some new House Leadership.

The MSM won't help DeLay. Its the seriousness of the charge that matters here. Whether he's innocent on legal grounds is not the issue. He's already been convicted of being a Republican and that's enough for them.

This is NOT the time to bash our own.

"I am not saying Delay is guilty, I am just saying at this level, they do not generally indict willy nilly."

You don't know much about Ronnie Earl, do you? He has a history of issuing bogus, politically-based indictments for as long as I have been in Texas -- and that is 25 years.

In 1994 he indicted Kay Baily Hutchinson on similar charges -- just as she was coming up for election to the Senate. He then tried to delay the trial until after the election date. Hutchinson's lawyers managed to stop that, and when the case went to trial, the judge dismissed the charges.

Based on Earle's track record, Delay is unlikely to get convicted. In fact, it is unlikely to actually come to trial.

Like I said, *generally* they don't indict at this level unless they feel they have something substantial.

That was not the case in 1993 when the same DA indicted Kay Hutchison. It was clearly a politically-motivated indictment.

You obviously do not reside in Texas, or Travis county. Buck up, man. This is not a conviction.

Delay needs only to pick up the Clinton play-book of the 90's: It's all partisan, we'll be vindicated, politics of personal destruction, etc. This is a non-story. The Clinton's have anethestisized America toward indictments.

We can shot that from the rooftops -- MSM are deaf.

They have DeLay now and they're running with it.

I certainly will not vote for someone under indictment.

Ronnie Earle gets his wish, then. What if DeLay is cleared, or the case is dropped after the election, as Kay Hutchison's indictment was?

You'll feel like an absolute fool.
