The fiance of a Santa Rosa motorcyclist who has been missing since last week is offering a $5,000 reward for information on her whereabouts.
Mark Hindman said he last saw his fiancee, 40-year-old Melinda Moore, at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 19 when she left the home they share near West Third Street and Fulton Road.
She had classes scheduled that day at Santa Rosa Junior College, said a friend, Kim Davalos. But Moore left her books at home and dressed in a leather riding outfit instead of the jeans she usually wore to class, Davalos said.

Runaway Bride Syndrome?
God, I hope not.
COnsidering alternatives... I hope so.
Excellent point
Attractive woman, but getting on in years. It wouldn't surprise me if she left the "fiance" to look for someone who would get on with marrying her. Could have set up the financial arrangements in advance.
On the other hand, she could have decided to skip school to go for a bike ride, and had an accident ... in which case I hope they find her quickly!
Good hypotheses. I hope that she returns safely.
If she rides an Aprilia, maybe she has her own money
ping
Yep, maybe she does.
seen this chick?
Or at least contacts her friends to let them know she's all right. An adult has a perfect right to break off a relationship and start over somewhere else, but it sounds like she'd known the other lady, Ms. Davalos, for many years. If she's okay, I'd expect her to get in touch in fairly short order.
There was a time in my life where I used to ride motorcycles really really really fast through canyons in the Sierra Nevada. Not very smart, but extremely exciting.
The ridgeline on the S F peninsula was also a thrilling ride.
Unfortunately, when you are doing something like that, a squirrel in the road, or even just a slight misjudgement can send a motorcyle 200 feet off the road and down an embankment into the brush where it will not be found for a long time.
I think you make excellent points especially about getting in contact at least with her seemingly close friend.
I know what you mean and I believe the bikers in that area have been out on those roads looking for her.
A buddy of mine bought Aprilia 1000 RSV with cash a few years back. He's in debt to his eyeballs. He simply saved every extra dime towards the bike.
She's actively talked other friends out of suicide? Nice stable group.
Though it isn't indicated, I assume she never made it to "class". And why the secrecy of where she was going? Why not confide that to her live in lover? Opps ... I mean fiance?
Can Greta Van Sustren be far behind?

It sounds like she may have been upset about something and went out for a ride. But, who knows at this point.
And yes, I see Greta not far behind.
