[history]
Hours before New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass announced his resignation, Tony relayed some hot information he had heard from his Capitol Hill sources. It regarded an FBI investigation currently under way.
You can go to the source above and listen to that segment of his radio show.

NO is known to be one of, if not the most corrupt city in the country.... this news should not be shocking to anyone who's been paying attention.
To: billygoatgruff
I wouldn't doubt that some of the deserter cops that the media has talked to might be hired actors, hired by NOPD to cover their butts.
I saw an interview with one of the deserter cops....
He may have been in "The Waterboy".

A good place to start is the MSNBC tape of two of NOPD's "finest" doing a little shop(lifting) in the Wal-Mart store. If they represent the NOPD I feel sorry for the good cops that have to work their butts off to maitain order in that cesspool.
The NOPD gives good cops everywhere a black eye. If COPS (the tv show) wanted to videotape NO's worst criminals, they'd never have to leave roll call.

"Is that why they could not get the bus drivers too???"DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!!!!!!!!
WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How come I didn't think of this??? "Naggin" Nagin knew that he didn't have any real bus drivers! They were all phantoms! Nice job, 3D!!
IMHO, Hurricane Katrina will be known as the vehicle that casts a brilliant sunbeam on Louisiana corruption, and by extension, the Democrat foothold on this state.
Methinks that Senator Vitter should maintain a much lower profile, because he'll be tarred as well.

When an officer leaves, you don't terminate him, You just change the address and stop direct deposit. Sounds like you have some skills in this area /grin
But the story said they NEVER existed. Pretty early yet.

Did I hear correctly at lunchtime that two cops committed suicide? (I haven't read all these posts.)
To: sarasota
My first thought when I heard that was that someone took advantage of the chaos to eliminate them for some reason.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Did anybody try to interview these cops sent to Las Vegas?
(if they existed)

Yikes...I hadn't thought of that. Those darn "suicides".
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Oh my, what a tangled web they weave when they first begin to deceive. Stay tuned for numerous additional twists and turns in this story.

The 500 new officers brought on board since then have helped the New Orleans Police Department nearly achieve that goal. What an interesting number.

Not good. The 911 response times of non-existent cops can be really long. True, but neither do non-existent cops loot.

As a native Louisianan, I'm offended by that remark! It should be "Louisiana is the northernmost Banana Republic."
