Yeah, like I said earlier, it seems that in CA (and LA among other places), sanity is not a requirement for office.
Maybe criminal groups, wouldn't surprise me, is what maintains many in CA politics. Sure looks obviously so in Louisiana.

There was all that organized crime in HUD regionals in CA, after all. I never read about any resolution to it, other than only a few lost their jobs but seems to me that that level of organized crime is rarely limited to just a few people.

All these years, the "investigative reporters" of the Louisiana newspapers had no hints, no clues, no tips on the police situation? Incredible (and unbelievable).
I'll bet the press is just as corrupt as the political situation down there.....and I'll bet they're all in bed with the pork and casino interests.

Yes, I've wondered about those two, also. Suicide after one, two, three days of riots and disorder, I dunno, seems extreme, if not questionable.

If I was Eddie Compass, I would ask for relocation in the Federal Witness Protection Program..
When an officer leaves, you don't terminate him, You just change the address and stop direct deposit.
As far as the Fed is concerned it doesn't really matter.
The Fed has jurisdiction on multiple fronts...
Tax evasion for starters... The Fed is also very interested in crime perpetrated by police officers/government officials.
There should be travel/lodging reinbursments from officers who went to Atlanta and Vegas.
I wonder how many will be proven to have actually gone there.
