Wow...kind of puts everything that happened in a different light. Maybe Nagin and Blanco aren't as dumb as they look and act...as Katrina approached they hatched a media savvy plan...blame George W. Bush and his FEMA. Yeah, thats the ticket...the media will run around in circles pointing finger at W and no one will 'notice' why things really went to hell.

Exactly...some have seen this from Day One. The screams of early blame were only to deflect from what they knew was coming down the pike. Ugly, terrible corruption in NO that has been going on for years.

I said earlier today that maybe the ineptness was not really ineptness. It is starting to look like it was to try to protect a massive amount of corruption. They probably hoped Katrina wouldn't hit.

And how could anyone not think that Jefferson was pulling something most foul when he wouldn't leave the items he took from his house as the rescue team is trying to airlift him.

Destroying evidence or massive amounts of money in that box or both.

And hoping to heck the paper trail back to them got washed away.

They do not like each other at all, and are politicians before public servants.

Folks, back when things started falling apart with Katrina's response, I always said two things--one, follow the money; and two, if they're trying to make you look somewhere else, look where they don't want you to look. This was the classic "divert the attention" operation--and Pennsylvania Mom has it nailed! Count on still more to come to light--Louisiana is Dem corruption on steroids!

There was a story about the first meeting between Bush and Nagin after Katrina. Remember, Nagin was going off the deep end at the time. I recall a report that Nagin came out of his meeting with Bush a changed man, i.e. he "found religion". No more finger-pointing and name-calling. I always wondered what it was that GW said to him to sober him up.....
