"Democrats have largely boycotted the congressional investigation. Though the inquiry chaired by Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., was meant to be bipartisan, Democrats say Republican lawmakers cannot fairly investigate the GOP White House, and are calling for an independent commission."

I Noticed one entire side of the congressmens chairs were empty. Democrats boycotting? Good!!!! this way Michael Brown will be able to answer (or not answer) questions in a way that will be most informative to the Congress.

Democrats not showing up? How like Pelosi \

Two Regrets of Michael Brown:
I regret FEMA failed to set up regular meetings with the media to keep the media informed.

I regret I was unable to convince Blanco and Nagin to sit down together and resolve their differences.

Uh oh, Brown is whining about the websites that made fun of him and maligned him. But he's explaining the discrepancies the media found in his resume.
He sounds genuinely piqued at how he was treated. Get over it Brown, we don't want to hear it. Just the pertinent facts.

Brown says, "I get it, I understand emergency preparedness".

Sarcasm is NOT a good idea, Brown. But it was minor..he did, I suppose, give proof he was a professor? I'm not sure.

The men and women of FEMA are dedicated, they're tired of getting beaten up., they dessserve better than they're getting.
brown says, we could do things better, we can stgrengthen FEMA.
Thankfully brief opening statement:

First Question from Davis:
Based on what you know now, what would you do differently? SuperDome, What about Communications? The National Guard getting there sooner? What were your biggest mistakes, Davis asked.

They just wanted to smooth the peaks and dull the points like they did with the 911 commission.

They want to shirt their duties so they won't be on record for being too tough or not tough enough. They want an "independent commission" which would consist of an equal number of dems and reps, so why is that any different than dems and reps lawmakers doing the investigation? Just another way to waste taxpayers' money and draw it out for 3 or 4 years, while they leak daily or weekly, depending on who they want to embarrass on any given day.
