Watching on FOX. Mike Brown doing a great job. Says he would not again let the press drive the story. He made mistake of spending too much time appearing with media to inform them and next time he would feed them thru press releases. Now defending himself and exposing the media lies about his background.

Brown responds. FEMA doesn't do evacuation, FEMA doesn't do communications, or law enforcement. Brown says "I should have pushed Louisiana harder. I don't want to make this partisan, but Mississippi and Alabama and Florida did not have problems with evacuations.
For whattever reason, Blanco and Nagin were reluctant to start a mandatory evacuation, the other states weren't.
No, Brown says, there was no other agency that could have forced LA to issue a mandatory evacuation sooner. I regret I couldn't make it happen.
