Hearings beginning now on C-Span- Michael Brown will be grilled.
Have at it, folks:)
FYI
I bet Brown is coming loaded for bear. I just hope his "consultant" status wasn't arranged to quiet him.
Is Landrieu on the commission? That would be rich...the smirking little lame-brain daddy's-girl crucifying someone else for her own shortcomings, corruption and ignorance of the facts.
thank you for the thread. Republican Rep Tom Davis chairman of the HOuse Select Committee is reading his opening, I assume the committee's democrat minority leader will speak too, and then, Michael Brown's opening statement, which better be good because he's going to get hammered.
Ttthis is a House committee, not a Senate committee.
I'm listening!
Brown is starting now...this should be an interesting morning:)
Oh, I didn't realize that. Thanks.

By the way, Tony Snow is breaking the story that so many New Orleans cops went missing because THEY NEVER EXISTED.
No opening statement from the democrats....it's a good thing.
Michael Brown begins his defense. My goodness, he doesn't sound like a drooling idiot...how can that be?
I have a feeling that by the time Brown is done, the Dems are gonna wish they never screamed for his scalp. He has nothing to lose by telling the truth now, and the unvarnished truth is going to be devastating for the state and local officials.
Payroll phantoms? Fascinating.
He sounds strong....and ready to give facts.
From what I gather- this is a temporary position- kind of "mop-up" status..
News networks carrying this live, not just C-Span. They must be expecting fireworks.
The local level is where all responses to disasters begins, says Brown. FEMA is NOT a first responder, he says.
Rather than defend himself, I'd rather see him attack those who are really responsible (maybe he'll do that, too).
Bush's "political hack" appointee ran FEMA last year when there were four hurricanes, each of which causing more damage than any single hurricane during the Clinton years - and FEMA performed adequately under that level of strain. I love throwing that one at liberals - they have no answer for it.
