I'm shaking my head at the FOX talking heads, too....what the HELL do they think, that simply because one has been accused and defamed falsely they should be contrite and apologize? What's wrong with standing up and defending oneself?

Jefferson is not interested in responses from Brown, he's just trying to polish up his image.

Citing a FEMA document to prove locals don't have to be first responders (to his mind). Doc says locals would be overwhelmed by "catastrophic" event and would need state and federal help. DHS planning assumes: local fire, police etc. are victims and overwhelmed. Pro-active federal reponse. "Almost immediately" exceeds resources available to locals.

"Local jurisdictions may be insufficient and quickly overwhelmed." (State, too?)

Even newspapers ran articles about possibility of this (those warning for the past 20 years about the levees?).

Jefferson got a National Guard truck supossedly to take him to the Dome. He diverted the truck to his house where he spent 45 minutes clesning out things (like $$$$). His belongings were the size of a small refrigerator.

Then the truck got stuck in his yard. A helicopter saw it was stuck and sent a man down to help get him out. He would not leave. When the airman returned to the helicopter, the pilot told him to go after him again. Again Jefferson would not go.

His whine was that the media had the facts wrong. He said the reports were defamatory. That is legally actionable false utterances that cause damage to reputation.

have a feeling that by the time Brown is done, the Dems are gonna wish they never screamed for his scalp. He has nothing to lose by telling the truth now, and the unvarnished truth is going to be devastating for the state and local officials

I hope so. But, SADLY, I have come to expect nothing less than weak kneed apologist from so called GOP leadership.

I have been pointing this out since the "political hack appointment" statements came out. I have YET to hear ANYONE in the news talk about this FACT.

Somehow he was able to manage four devestating Hurricanes in a row without complaint but when New Orleans and it's leadership is EXPOSED as a 3rd world like , he becomes an incompetent and inexperienced political hack!!

Breaking news from Tony Snow ...

So, instead of so many New Orleans policemen not showing up, it was really a case of there NOT being those numbers on the police force to begin with as the numbers were padded. So the taxpayers were being ripped off and $$ going into politicians pockets.

Geeze......!
