You're not nuts, I saw it, too.
Looked like a hunting dog of some type ended up in a holding basin while they're pumping out NOLA. The reporter on the scene was covering the story of draining NOLA when the camerman caught the dog swimming frantically in the tank, so they pretty much stopped their story and were in the process of turning off the pumps and trying to save the dog, who was hanging onto a grate. He was in a tough spot to get to, and they didn't have any ropes or nets to grab him.
The reporter (guy) was pretty upset.
They ended the feed so the crew could try and save the dog, and FOX said they'd update us later.
And I'm out the door, too. Dog was still alive at 8:33 am Central.
I had to turn it off, because it was too heartbreaking. Obviously exhausted dog treading water, trying to get to safety somehow - reporter, obviously upset - and I'm yelling at the TV: "So stop talking about how the dog's gonna drown any minute and go and HELP IT ... I mean, it IS only about 3 feet away..." Then again, I can't really blame the reporter for not wanting to touch that water...
Someone please post an update.
Dog, btw, is Swedish for "died." I'm series. Nomen est omen? Let's hope not.
