Yeah I agree, the whole thing was an absolute f**king joke! It was a disgrace to listen to those Congressman and Senators act like they knew nothing during the March04 "investigation", but failed to mention the information was available for all to see in Janurary. They knew about it. To he$$ with them.
The media was looking for a soldier to demonize. Remember the first one they went after? The one who shot a terrorist, I'm sorry "insurgent" when he was down? But they failed to mention that Mr.terrorist was down because, when he was UP, and 100% alive, he was shooting at that SAME soldier.
The only part they showed was where he was making sure he was dead. No, they have to make it look like he's torturing some innocent civilian for no reason. BS!!!

This girl is not very bright and was easily led. Hope the court considers that.

Intelligence has no significance in one's respect for laws and basic humanity.

The guards at Abu Ghraib were deasling with men who were totally devoid of all basic humanity.

It's pretty amazing to see a conservative condoning and defending that behavior. Firstly, you don't know what the specific circumstances of the abused prisoners were. Secondly, she did not do that in a heat of a battle. Thirdly, nobody empowered her to evaluate the level of humanity and matters of justice.

If these people are subhuman and committed horrible deeds, take them out and hang them. But an American like you should know the difference.

Ugly and stupid are pretty much in the eye of beholder, the former more than the latter. But fat she is not particularly, and in the "Leash" photos she's down right thin. Working on an army base I've observed that both BDUs and the Army woman's "Class A" uniform do tend to make many look fat, and to really disguise skinny. Add to that the fact that when many of the photos were taken she was either pregnant or still recovering from it. She does seem to have come out a bit thicker than before the baby, but there's nothing unusual about that.

Three officers who were among Sanchez's top deputies during the period of the prisoner abuse in the fall of 2003 also have been cleared

Gee, do you suppose it could be because they weren't involved and were not in command. (Sanchez was in command of course, but then so was George Bush). At some point those in the higher echelons likely don't have any knowledge of misdeeds by those below them. Other wise you'd have prosecute the Commanding General every time some soldier went drunk and disorderly.

This is complete BS. She should be dishonorably discharged and placed on probation. If it saves an innocent life I have absolutely no problem with these POS being tortured. The hypocrisy on the left and right re:this event is laughable.

You are correct! Saddam's regime would also rape and torture women in front of their families. Tell that to our second enemy- the liberal bias news media.

"This seems rather simple to me, and shows that our military is perfectly capable of policing its own without a bunch of internet message board posters or foreign governments second guessing it."

Second-guessing the Government is my right as an American citizen. Also, I have been a Trial Counsel at Courts-Martials and sent many a scumbag to the Disciplinary Barracks. I know plenty about the process. During a deployment, I have observed similar misconduct - that did not make the media - disposed of by Article 15's or reprimands. England, who probably never should have been allowed into the service in the first place, is getting hammered because her case hit the media. I don't think that is fair.

I just wish, that before she was nailed, she could have had Cindy Sheehan as a prisoner.

Well, of course she's responsible for what she did, but I want to know what happened with that female officer (a general, I think) who was supposedly in command of that prison.

If the soldiers and non-coms get prison, and those at the top of the direct chain of command just walk, I'll be pissed.

I'm not saying that Rummy or President Bush should be held responsible: But the person directly in charge of that prison should be. As should her subordinates.

Middle class college girls engage in the same behavior--and worse--every weekend at the frat house.

It's stupid and vulgar, but not criminal.

Middle class college frat sluts usually aren't subject to the UCMJ . . .
