SECURITY CLEARANCE is what you apparently needed to attend the secret wedding last week of C-SPAN impresario Brian Lamb, a lifelong bachelor at age 63, to a hometown friend from Lafayette, Ind., known only as Victoria. "They were married in a small, private ceremony in the Washington area," a C-SPAN spokeswoman said mysteriously, "and Brian was in the office all week." Surely that's the kind of response that would prompt the deceptively soft-spoken Lamb - in one of his trademark interviews with a politician - to demand answer after answer. Anyhow, congratulations, Brian!

...a lifelong bachelor at age 63... Now?
He gets married now, at 63?
Why?

I thought they were going to wait a spell before they raised a family?

Maybe he wants kids! "Lifelong friend" implies she is rather long in the tooth as well.
Of course, they can always buy an egg.

Would be hilarious if he got some 25 year old babe to marry him. That he's really a party animal

Maybe he had to make an honest woman of her.
Anyway, congratulations to a man who has given me countless hours of education and pleasure. Perhaps unwittingly, Brian Lamb has done more to damage the left than any other reporter I can identify.
And he got the left to pay for it too.
Brian Lamb, my hero. Er, after the G'nrl, of course.

Best wishes to Brian Lamb.......I make it a point to watch Friday's Washington Journal broadcast mainly because he hosts it. Kudos to a great and an unbiased reporter.

Yes, he is shockingly unbiased. I can't think of any other reporter who is.

I've been watching him for years and haven't a clue as to his politics.

One of the best interviewers there's ever been. And I've wondered once or twice which team he plays for. I suppose this shows it's ours.

I've been watching him for years and haven't a clue as to his politics. An interview in Reason magazine a few years ago indicated to me he's somewhat libertarian. But he's such a pro that you really had to read carefully to pick that up; he's the model for what allegedly-unbiased reporters should strive to be.

He was a Republican 30 years ago although I am sure he is registered independent since C-SPAN.
He worked for a Republican senator and was on the transition team when Gerald Ford became President in 1974.
