NEW YORK - A suspect in the case of an Alabama teenager missing in Aruba admits he lied about the last time he saw her on the night she vanished, but he insists she was fine, according to a television interview.
Joran van der Sloot, 18, was one of three men jailed this summer in Natalee Holloway's May 30 disappearance. He talked to a producer for "A Current Affair" in Holland, where he is attending college. The interview is scheduled to air Monday.
Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot and two brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe. The three young men were released on the condition they remain available to police for questioning.
Van der Sloot and the brothers initially told police they dropped Holloway off alone at her hotel but later admitted van der Sloot was dropped off with the teen.
"We agreed to lie," van der Sloot said, according to a transcript of the show.
He insists the night ended when he left her alone on the beach.
"She wanted to stay here the whole night. I told her no I had to go. I even lifted her up to carry her back to the hotel, and she told me to put her down," he said in the interview.
Extensive searches have failed to find any trace of Holloway, who vanished on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the Dutch Caribbean island.
Van der Sloot said he had been drinking with Holloway when they left with the Kalpoe brothers.
"Obviously she was drunk. I had stuff to drink, too," van der Sloot said. "She wanted to go with me. I wanted to go with her. It was totally consensual."
give me two hours with this punk......
we will know what really happened and where Natalee's body is.
These filthy ,lying ,little rapist pr**ks . They deserve the harshest possible treatment for what they did . I hope and pray their karma catches up to them one day real soon.
notice how he talks about "lifting her up"?......often criminals will use terms that actually describe what they did...and in this case, I think he lifted her up alright......
go to Hell, directly to Hell , do not pass goal , do not collect $200!!!!!
Let me know when he says something I might believe.
"She was fine, yeah that's the ticket," Said Joran van der SLUT
"She wanted to stay here the whole night. I told her no I had to go. I even lifted her up to carry her back to the hotel, and she told me to put her down," he said in the interview
translation: I was completely drunk, she said no, she had to go, so I killed her.
You are so right! There would be no need for any lies if the one he tells now were true. If he left her unharmed and drunk on the beach, then why conspire to hide the supposed truth with the dropping her off at the Holiday Inn lie?
Hiding guilt is the only answer.
