Dylan's songs often sound VASTLY better at the hands of other artists. I concur 100% with that statement. I am a big fan of Dylan, but have never said he was a good singer, nor do I particularly like his voice. But it is his words that often times speak volumes.

I think its a matter of hearing Dylan when he is in fine forum. I have recordings when Bob is performing brilliantly-nothing like you probably have heard. Commercial releases are pretty lame presentations of his work.

Yep, others with more pleasant voices have sung his music better... but it is his music, his passion. Perhaps his delivery isn't to many people's liking (I can't listen to him that long, the voice grates a bit), but the words should be.

Mr. Tambourine Man - The Byrds The Byrds did an outstanding job on Tambourine Man for sure.Have you ever heard Judy Collins do it? Amazing,IMO.
