"Bob Dylan who is a born again Christan and made a beautiful album about his faith..."

Unless you know this personally, the claim means nothing. Even then, it means nothing. Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter are born again Christians. Jane Fonda was born again. Brittany Spears is a born again, too. Seems like everybody is born again for some reason or another. Except when they die - then everybody is usually found to have been gay.

using your logic, because I don't know President Bush or members of baseball and football teams that lead prayers in the clubhouse, I can't know a person of faith. You have a strange way of reaching conclusions.

LOL!

They were always "openly gay". Everyone who was anyone knew that. It's only the hoi polloi that was fooled.

Dylan spent three highly unprofitable years flogging Christian music to his old-line fans who found it interesting but didn't invest much in the albumns. For what it is worth, have you ever given three years of income to the church?

Took me a minute on the "gay" part, then I remembered the gays are claiming Lincoln as their own.

Instead of offering your "opinions", try latching on to some FACTS...Dylan released THREE Christian albums...recently Gospel recording artists released an album of Dylan's Christian music...but most importantly, READ the words of the songs from his Christian albums...the lyrics are some of the strongest ever written in contemporary Christian music.

Of course, contemporary Christian music DIDN'T exist when Dylan did it, so the record industry, and the public did not know what to do with it...

I saw Dylan in concert three times two years ago...He opened those concerts with "I AM THE MAN THOMAS", an old blue grass song about Christ showing his wounds to Thomas...He also performed two of his other songs from his Christian albums; "I BELIEVE IN YOU" and "SOLID ROCK".

Listen to his records. Among them: Infidels, Mercy, Slow Train Coming. It wasn't a phase, it was a seemingly permanant change in his outlook that has been reflected in his music for 20 years now. Along the way he's written some very powerful music. Like other professionals I think it is proper to judge him by his work.

And by the way, I know one of his security guys, that lives part time with Dylan at his place in Malibu. He's told me the man is a great family man, a straight shooter, a very private individual and a nice guy.

Strike that. Substitute: "For what it is worth, have you ever worked three years with your main focus as publicly declaring your faith in the Salvation gift of Jesus Christ."

I am completely happy with my church. Our pastor is working on developing a community-outreach mentality where the Church's main work is serving those who can't serve themselves, and witnessing to Christ's live through the works we do for others. Ten percent of our church's budget is always given to Missions, local and national, often food kitchen and educational missions. If you are unhappy with your church, whatever flavor of Christianity, get out and find another that serves in a way you want to serve!

Agree! To profess does not necessarily mean to possess. There should be some corresponding fruit eventually appearing on the tree after someone is truly born-again.

Huh? Listen to "Slow Train Coming" or "Saved" and you'll know it personally - end of discussion. They're beautiful, faith based albums - and I'm speaking as someone who doesn't have a religious agenda.

The point is that the author is hand-wringing BECAUSE Dylan isn't a bloviating, frothing-at-the-mouth-liberal as he no doubt hoped.

And you are wrong about only boomers caring about boomers. In fact you couldn't be MORE wrong. This economy is being driven by boomers. The health care industry, the recreation industry, and; who do you think is buying all those SUVs?

Are you one of those jealous young punks under 35?
