the problems that FEMA had during this disaster actually seem to highlight what President Bush has obviously all along sensed about some of the governments management problems, which gave birth to his faith based initiative. He realized that there are some things that churches and charities will always be able to do much better than the government. This is one of the important lessons of Katrina.

The point you highlighted is just perfect, and is how it should be. It isn't really the government's job to take care of us. Who knew huh? :-)

Rick is real man of God. If you want to get a glimpse into how life in the Kingdom (or Heaven if you like) will be like, check out his book, "the Final Quest". He has had some amazing visions.

It has been quite apparent that after Katrina and Rita that the local and State officials had effective disaster plans in three States and not in another. The Texas response made it quite clear that the Louisiana Gov and NO Mayor are incompetent.

This church's "mentality" seems to love everything that is negative. They see this as somehow affirming their notion that God should be looking out for us rather than we ourselves and via the governments that humans create.
When humans achieve something positive--like medical advances, cures, scientific understandings of the solar system and earth, the internet, etc., etc. this church does not applaud human achievment.
Stuck on stupid.
