WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday dealt a crushing blow to the International Freedom Center planned for Ground Zero, saying she wants the project canned for failing to listen to the 9/11 families.
"I cannot support the IFC," Clinton declared last night in a strongly worded statement in response to an inquiry from The Post.
Her tough comments are Clinton's first significant remarks about the controversy raging at Ground Zero over the Freedom Center, which 9/11 families and other critics fear will become a center of anti-Americanism.
"While I want to ensure that development and rebuilding in lower Manhattan move forward expeditiously, I am troubled by the serious concerns family members and first responders have expressed to me," Clinton said.
"The LMDC [Lower Manhattan Development Corp.] has authority over the site and I do not believe we can move forward until it heeds and addresses their concerns."

Wacth out , she's VERY dangerous .
Sorry, this is a duplicate post.
I did a search and didnt find it..Sorry
I've been wondering where the conservative politicians were on this issue...why there hasn't been a larger outcry. I mean, the place sounds like a theme park for those mentally infirm hate-filled loons with soap allergies gathered outside the White House today!
Never thought/feared it would be the Hildebeast who claimed the limelight in this regard. But I SHOULD have seen in coming. There are no better political opportunists then those named Clinton.
You're right...she's VERY dangerous.
Illegal immigration, the Freedom Center.. the Clintons will take advantage of any issue for which the Republican party forgets conservative, America-first principles.
When GOPers leave a vacuum on what should be our issues (borders, security, etc) she is going to fill that vacuum and then beat the crap out of the GOPers with it.
Hiding. They haven't had the guts to step forward on this. At least the beast does. Now the weenies will watch to see the response before they speak.
:-) It happens. I only remembered having read it earlier.
Here it is.

Didn't Pataki say pretty much the same thing?
But even if so, the trouble is that there are no prominent conservatives from New York, or at least none that hold statewide office. That's not to say that a prominent Republican from another state couldn't make a bigger deal out of this, but unfortunately Hillary, as the carpetbagger senator from NY, is ideally positioned to do this.
Which will just make your day. Nothing like seeing the GOP screwed out of revenge for rejecting Buchanan. If that means the entire country is screwed at the same time, then so be it. Thankfully most Americans are obsessed with a single issue and will not believe the Democrats.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
The two things that bother me about her is that she is totally corrupt, and her supreame court appointments.
A conservative in New York? They both went to New Orleans to help out.
Another move to look "reasonable" to the bewildered and uninformed.
Well, I'll blast her when she deserves it (which is most of the time) but I'm not going to criticize this one. Opportunist or not, it's the right position.
I have no doubt that Hillary will stack the courts with activist liberals if she is elected in 2008. That's the Clinton modus operandi... let somebody else do the dirty work of implementing their liberal agenda while maintaining their own credentials as "centrists."
She's not upset about the anti-American, pro-terrorist aspects, she's just upset they're not listening to her constiuents.

I agree with you there...the proposal for that center is a total disgrace. It just irks me to no end that time and again conservative politicians drop the ball on important issues so a scheming Hillary can pick it up and make political hay out of it.
If the Republicans are nodding off at the wheel now, I shudder to think what will happen when Hillary ACTIVELY begins a run for the White House, with the lame-stream media 110% in her corner. Somebody slip the RNC some No-Doz!
