They got a new kitten and brought him down with 'em. I've taken some photos of him, but haven't photoshopped 'em yet.
Still not sure what we have going on this weekend though. I guess we'll see. Probably pumpkin carving and the like.
This one:
Gets to go out for her first really, real Halloween. They took her out last year when they were up North, but there aren't nearly as many houses to hit up there in a farming community. Down here in Austin, they could conceivably come back with her body weight in candy if they put their minds to it.
The costumes are all ready: A cowboy, a geisha, a ninja, and a greek god. The candy recepticals are all ready. I'm not ready.
We really lucked out when we moved to our present home. We live on a fairly busy road with no sidewalks, so trick-or-treating does not take place here. Up the hill and down the side streets, is another matter. The people seem to view halloween as a national holiday and dress up their houses, their yards, and themselves. It is an awesome experience! The kids are laden down with pounds of candy within forty-five minutes. The best part, from the grown-up perspective, is the house that offers hot cider: one for the kids and another (hehehe) for the adults. The kids look forward to Halloween for weeks.
Oh, she looks adorable!
My husband decided we'd go out for Tom's birthday, instead of staying home to hand out candy.
