Well I just compared one of those 5-6 inch dishes which I never use (they must have a function, but I can't imagine what it is (I think you are supposed to put your rolls on them come to think of it)) with the 11 inchers. The glaze seems identical to my eyes. Maybe it is a bionic glaze.
I have been wondering for two days whether some of these programmers have been selecting certain "simulation runs" for release to the public based on their "shock value" --- and certainly, a loop around and return toward N.O. would satisfy that...
Hmm..well..I did buy a whole set of flatware at an estate sale a couple of months ago for 250 bucks. It turned out to be a complete set of the Candlelight series from TOWLE, made in we think 1980. The papers that came with it say it originally cost 2,900 bucks at that time. I don't know if it's true, but it's very nice silverware.
I'm planning to give it to my dear saintly momma for Christmas.
You wouldn't be familiar with that brand, would you?
I'm just trying to figure out what it is worth.
Yep ... that is what my local news is saying
Hi...been reading all your antique/silver posts..I have a pickle dish of my Nana's ..I use it for special occasions even tho it's not real valuable. Have any of you all ever beeen to Canton-Texas? You really must come sometime if you can..it is fabulous..acres and acres of good junk/ antiques.called 1st Monday..it comes next week..the week before the 1st Monday of every month.I'm going. ;=)
My husband was standing here reading that story over my shoulder.
Jim Robinson forbids me to post what he said.
He did indeed! I was just teasing AFPhys while he was mumbling to himself about his >'s and <'s.
This is why I don't watch TV...I avoid all that irritation...
Thanks for the info--I don't even have a dishwasher (besides moi), but why is it bad to put them rim down?
That is what Janice Dean on Fox News was predicting today..
that Rita would loop around and go back in the Gulf and maybe get in that nice warm water and stir itself up again.
She said it is a possibility...
Heh Heh. I would bet you anything that if my mother was alive, she could find a difference.
Are they bread plates or salad plates? The salads are larger. Luncheon plates are just slightly smaller than dinner plates which are slightly smaller than the European dinner plates I think, they are really big. I wish I had the oversized plates but never even thought about them when I got china and none of the stuff I got from relatives has the big plates.
It's there indeed. I just checked. It must be a screw up, where they got the map got moved to the east under the track. How hilarious.
It's a BIG joke with all my friends.....
"What did you buy, Molly"....
"Oh' Just a pair of large jugs"
If you saw me you'd laugh even more......
Have over 50 pieces of jugs and crockery.....
Perhaps Howlin will think I was being good, just chatting with the girls about flatware.
I haven't heard of it! Will look next time I am there.
A lot of people don't know that the port of Galveston was one of the official immigration points, like Ellis Island. They've had a searchable database online for years now. Or did. Their server might be down!
You are lucky, I went to bed late, and then woke up, turned on the TV about 7:30 AM,---
just in time to see Sheila Jackson Lee giving a speech about Hurricane Rita...whoa...
Thanks folks. We're really proud of all the folks who've shown grit, teamwork and untold kindness in the Lone Star State tonight. The stars are shining bright here in the hill country tonight...a great night to be alive! [:o)
The stars at night, are big and bright,
deep in the heart of Texas,
The prairie sky is wide and high,
deep in the heart of Texas.
The sage in bloom is like perfume,
deep in the heart of Texas,
Reminds me of, the one I love,
deep in the heart of Texas.
They fade some finishes. I have had cups turn totally white from the dishwasher...but others it doesn't touch.
Rita's new course is all just a big question mark.
