One of the many things that causes conservatives to stay home in disgust is due to the fact that the GOP doesn't have the ability to fight the Dems head-on. They're more concerned with what the media will say about them and being plastered with the right-wing label. If more Republicans acted like Tom DeLay instead of Trent Lott, the GOP would already have a far bigger Congressional majority than it has now.
