I don't usually post stuff like this, but I thought this was interesting. Many questions could have been worded better. Not bad if you're into this sort of thing (political "quizzes"). Fun for a Saturday morning.

Apparently, according to the graph, one cannot be a fascist or anarchist as a Democrat. Something seems wrong here.

Good catch. I didn't notice that until after you pointed it out.

Honestly, fascism is so misunderstood. There are elements of both left and right in fascism, and it's difficult to pin it down. I still don't "get" why it's generally identified with the right wing. Now, there are many different varieties of anarchism (see this Wikipedia entry) so you can definitely be leftist and anarchist, and most of the black-clad thugs we see marching in streets under the anarchist banner are indeed of the leftist variety.

Good catch. I didn't notice that until after you pointed it out.

Don't make the mistake of confusing a political philosophy with the platform of a political party that has adopted the name. They are not interchangeable.

I skipped this test but to the right of the page there's a "Would You Have Been A Nazi" test - I passed.

It seems that being "Patriotic" and not being "tolerant" to gays makes you a Nazi. On the 'up' side, the test said I would have been a General.

I use Wikipedia but will double check with Answers.com or other places if what I read does not sound right. Just me I guess, but Wikipedia has sometimes been too quick to take the leftist side of an issue or slant on history. The left is quick to put the fascist label on the right so they can avoid the connection between fascism and socialism. Whereas neither is compatible with capitalism.

What might be more fun, and instructive, would be for someone to figure out specific differences between conservatives, neo-con's and paleo-con's. The left and media keeps labeling people but I find myself agreeing and disagreeing with paleo and neo's. So, I consider myself just a conservative and will let the left go nuts figuring out the rest.

Jeez....

Social moderate, Economic conservative. I'm squarely over Donald Trump (isn't that where Ivana used to be?).

What is truely distrubing is to scroll down and see the "goon laws" responses. The poll is disturbing as well, until you see that the libs (or Kerry voters) outnumber the Bush voters by 2-1.

Economic Conservative  (61% permissive)

You are best described as a:

You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.

I understand your concern, but the Wikipedia entry on anarchism does seem to be pretty correct IMO, based on what I myself know about anarchism.

I don't mean Wikipedia isn't right on many things. Sometimes it's the way they present the information and other times the way the stretch a meaning.

For example, from anarchism. "These philosophies use anarchy to mean a society based on voluntary interaction of free individuals." Sounds a lot like capitalism or what we mean by a market economy. But it's misleading because anarchy by definition means no government to enforce the social contract. Therefore, as Wikipedia presents anarchy as a viable method of governing, it can't be by it's definition.
