HILLARY'S HOME RUN
New York Post ^ | 9/24/5 | Editor

Posted on 09/23/2005 11:25:32 PM PDT by SmithL

With Hillary Clinton's unequivocal rejection of the ill-conceived International Freedom Center at Ground Zero, you've got to wonder: Is there anyone left who still doubts that the center would be an abomination at that site?

"I am troubled by the serious concerns that family members and first responders have expressed to me," Sen. Clinton told The Post exclusively yesterday. "The [Lower Manhattan Development Corp.] has authority over the site, and I do not believe we can move forward until it heeds and addresses their concerns. Therefore, I cannot support the IFC."

Actually there is someone who's still on the fence about the IFC: Clinton's fellow senator from New York, Chuck Schumer.

"There's got to be a way to meet the families' sincere and real needs, and build a center that honors the freedom that the victims died for," Schumer said.

"We hope that the LMDC will find some common ground quickly."

Of course, that's impossible.

Unless that "common ground" is not at Ground Zero — because the center simply cannot be allowed there.

The LMDC has had months to work out problems since Debra Burlingame first blew the whistle on the Freedom Center, and its plans for highly political and potentially anti-American features.

And Burlingame has enormous moral standing: Her brother was a pilot on one of the 9/11 planes.

Since then, the Uniformed Firefighters Associations, which lost 343 members, and the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, which lost 23 cops, have also expressed their outrage at the idea of locating a politicized, America-hating facility at the very spot where this nation suffered its worst domestic attack.

Numerous other 9/11 family members joined them.

What is obvious here is that both of these senators are following the orders of a voting block; they're unprincipled officials who are folllowers.

Wow, what a gutsy move on Hillary's part to oppose an America-hating memorial to Islamic terrorists which is proposed for the "Ground Zero" site. She's clearly Presidential timber.

I actually love this. Hillary's feeble attempt to straddle (ooops, I don't think her name and that word should be used in the same sentence, sorry about that), but her attempt to straddle the political fence is pi$$ing off her base.

Even Sindy Al-Sheehan is livid with her for her support of the War On Terror (well, she does not really support it, but just says she does).

The biggest supporters of this horrible "center" are leeches from academia and far left groups. Her yanking of her support will tick them off big time.

I am not kidding. They will be very angry. They wanted to latch on to the notoriety of the 9-11 victims and use it to do this

to promote their radical agenda.

Now they are abandoned.

Congrats Lefties--you thought Hillary was your perfect beautiful whore. What you have discovered is that in the end, she is this:

I monitor a lot of the enemy's sites, and I have to tell you in all honesty: they loathe Hillary almost as much as we do. I dont's think they've thought of her as one of their "perfect whore" for a long time.

I have to admit, this is a good move on Hillary's part. But even awful totalitarian thugs like Castro get one or two things right from time to time.

I believe you.

They desperately need a "hero." They have no leadership, because all of their big guns (Pelosi, Kennedy, Schumer, Frank, etc) are ultimately selfish and only out for themselves.

The Republicans have heroes. Guliani, "Der Arnold", other Govs (Barbour, Perry), some great Senators, etc.

That is one reason why this picture drove them so nuts.

Also, I don't know his politics, but the hero of Katrina is a man who has repeatedly dressed down the Liberal MSM who have cowardly used every opportunity to try to exploit these natural disaster for political gain to the Democrats.

"I kin' git an epileptic monkey to du yur job!"

This is another of Hillary's give and take ploys. If there was not an outcry against it, and I mean a big one, she'd not bother to weigh in and do any political damage . So she plays the blame Bush, I'm for the troops, blame Bush, these families have a right to be heard, blame Bush, our borders are too insecure...game. She thinks that people will see that she's centrist, not leftist. She should be exposed at every turn!

the beast really is a whore, like liz cheney stated during kerry's election "he will say and do anything". I believe pigs are going to be flying soon, what will she do next to court the right, but the left knows once elected she will convert back to norm.

No, they have no leadership, because, in their minds, Pelosi, Kennedy, Schumer, Frank, etc., are right wing NAZIs.

In an article a month or so back, Mark Steyn listed the money and individuals behind the International Freedom Center. The people in charge are virtually all leftists and, while the donations come from a number of left wing groups, chief among them was George Soros.
How the hell they managed to hijack this memorial project is beyond me, but someone at some point exercised poor judgment in allowing them so much control and influence over the concept. Seeing the backers, you could almost predict the result.
