I am a chemist by profession... any chance you could give a precise description of the odor?

The chemical tinge smells metallic, if you know what I mean. I can't really place it. Sorry - it's very faint. The smell of rotting organics (plant and animal matter) is much stronger, and you can smell the sea - but I don't smell "fish" or "rotting fish".
