It only flickered twice during the night. It's on! Woo hoo!
My internet connection is intermittent for some reason, but seems fine at the moment.
I was prepared for some major chainsaw work this morning, but I can clean this mess up with a broom!
I may have 30 bottles of frozen water in my freezer for no good reason. Yee haw! Can you tell that I'm ecstatic at the moment? ;-)
There are about 600,000 people without power in Houston, but I'm not one of them. Now, if I can only find some gasoline...
Great news! Sure hope others are as fortunate as you were
Here's a pic for all those in Texas who made it through:

Thank God.
P.S. Could someone send me the link to HTML for image posting again, I can never seem to figure out the hosting site to get images up.
Hey DG, glad all seems okay over your way...... Can you make any guesses on the Spring area maybe just a little west of I-45 off 2920? I have a daughter up there but haven't been able to contact this morning mostly because of cell phone problems... I'm sure the area didn't get it too bad based upon what I'm seeing on the nat'l news. I sure hate it when you can't get local stations live.
Mornin' Dog. I'm glad to see that all is well in your neck of the woods. :>)
Pretty amazing night for Houston. My power flickered on and off a couple of times too but have power this morning and I am really surprised that there is no big branches or trees down.
It will be a tough couple of days with cabin fever because who knows when we will have gas and the stores will open.
There are going to be a lot people all over the news complaining about leaving when they did not have to and not having gas. It will be interesting on the news but I am not going to watch it anymore.
Praise the Lord for He is so good to spare Houston!!!
I am so happy for you!
You sound positivel giddy!
Glad to hear you came through okay!
West Side of H-Town I assume?
Rita was a MONSTER--it could have killed so many and destroyed so much. But I believe--and call me nuts I don't care--there were MIGHTY angels riding that whirlwind to a place where it would do the least harm. And the back side--the outer eyewall--pretty much disintegrated. To some that my be a stroke of luck; to me it is the power of prayer!
HALLELUJAH!
On another note, how pitiful and pathetic that the leader of the greatest country on earth is asked another vicious and STOOOOPID question, to which he humbly replies, "There will be no risk of me getting in the way, I promise you," Bush said.
Thought this might be appropriate for the next time the MSM break their necks to ask the most hateful question:
So glad you guys made it through ok last night! Now for my first cup of coffee!
Glad to see you are doing well... and I hope your wife is not too busy today.
Thanking The Lord, and sorry and praying for the folks in her path. As much as I wanted to pray to move Rita away from us...I never could 'cause I didn't won't anyone to have to go through this storm. However, it does appear this wasn't a Katrina, places wiped out completely as was eastern LA, Miss, Ala.
I'm taking the water I stored and watering everything outside. Since, we've kinda been dry...that stored water over the next few weeks could be used to give your plants plenty of drinks. Take care.
