Last year a developer had a sub-division called "Twelve Oaks." In the span of 15 minutes it was Nine Oaks. This happened during Jeanne.

Oh yeah, I've seen oak trees get laid down by 60 MPH straight line winds in the summer, especially if the ground is saturated with moisture, like a sponge.
This storm has changed course to the west about 20 degrees in the last hour. Houston ain't out of the woods yet.
BurbankKarl (monitoring ham radio) just said that part of the Lake Charles Airport Terminal has collapsed.

Roof problems reported on hospital. Part of the roof is collapsing in a separate part of the hospital - St. Patrick's hospital.
I've seen that highway many times, but I've never seen it like that.
They were just repeating what they heard on TV. I hear some birds can do that too.
