Gun-control advocates will warn visitors to Florida that a new state self-defense law that starts Oct. 1 puts them in jeopardy. Gov. Jeb Bush's spokeswoman called the campaign `ridiculous.'
TALLAHASSEE - Enter Florida at your own risk. That's the message supporters of gun control are sending in an ad campaign designed to warn visitors about Florida's new law allowing victims to shoot first in self-defense without fear of prosecution.

Expect violent crime rates to drop in Florida. Criminals like easy targets not dangerous ones.
Floridians now free to shoot back baby! lol

Visitors coming to Florida SHOULD be warned that attacking their hosts can be dangerous, so they can choose to stay home, or not go to Florida and violently attack anybody.
This campaign should scare away social predators and anti-gun liberals. I have no problem with that.

I think the reverse is even more important. Visitors to Florida should know that if they are the victim of a violent crime they have the right to respond with deadly force.

That's been the law out west for years: that you don't have to run from an aggressor appearing to possess deadly force but lacking any legal privilege. The law will remain that if you use deadly force without justification or excuse you will face murder or manslaughter charges.
Anti-gun `goo goos' are just wetting themselves, as usual.

That's a new one. Hoplophobes promoting the safety of Florida citizens, and their guests, due to firearms.

Yes, the anti-gun liberals will want to skip Florida and vacation instead in our nation's capital, where guns are banned and peace and brotherhood reign.

Michigan has a new bill in the legislator modeled after the Fla. law.
We'll whack the criminals wherever they set up shop.

If these are the same tourists who come down here and change lanes without signaling, they are dead anyways. No loss.

''Do not argue unnecessarily with local people,'' and ''keep your hands in plain sight'' if you are involved in a traffic accident or a near-miss.
Who doesn't think that's just good advice in general? When is arguing unnecessarily ever a good thing? LOL!

Sounds like a page straight out of that illegal immigrant guide the Mexican government put out on what to do and not to do when traveling to America.

Thanks to CCW reciprocity I can look forward to visiting Florida fully armed from North Carolina.
Now the question is, "What to pack?".
A nice, high capacity Glock, a pair of big bore S&Ws, or a nice shiny Colt .357?

I think the NRA should supplement Massachusetts' border 'gun law warning' signs with signs which read: "Welcome to Massachusetts! Watch your step, enjoy your stay!"

I like it!
How about instead of Deer crossing signs they show a human Silhouette with a pistol stating "Caution Guns Ahead, next 50 miles"
