Frank Billingsly who has been the NBC weatherman in Houston who has been a big time drama king has looked down the past 30 minutes. He said that people that are very stressed out and panicked from Houston should start breathing a sigh of relief. He said it looks like it will be moving toward Louisiana.

I feel sorry for all of those people who were on the road for 18-24 hours.

The unfortunate thing about this for Houston is that the next time there is a big storm like this, most Houstonians/Galvestonians will stay put and this could be deadly next time around.

One personal silver lining...it forced my work-a-holic brother to load up the wife, kids and dogs and take a "vacation" in the hill country.

You are exactly right. That is what happened with Katrina this year in New Orleans. Ivan was their Rita.
