I have a picture of Pokay in my mind.. what she looks like.
LOL. Cute puppy.
Good luck Eaker.
I would heartily encourage you to find that home in the areas you're talking about. Lovely area!
Contrary to MSM belief we Texans do remember lessons from previous serious hurricanes. My family evacuated Houston in 1961 and we all remember what it was like when we returned home. Grandparents were in Gilchrist - right across the bay from Galveston at that time. My grandfather had the contract for dredging Rollover Pass. I remember what it looked like when we went back there and I was only 3.
My dad, my uncles and lots of cousins have worked for my grand-dad's company. He's done a lot of seawall work on the coast. I guess that explains why my family works with emergency helps when things happen - but heck, our friends and neighbors here 250 miles from the coast are all on the same page too. We don't forget that preparation is the best remedy.
This guy on KPLC is getting screwed up by the winds in Lake Charles.
And the ghost of Peter Jennings will insinuate he's hiding, channeled through Alan Alda.
That looks like a little Dobie. I have one and she's the best dog I have ever had.
Blanko already has come out saying everything necessary to rebuild the levees higher and stronger must be done.
She loads her own. She doesn't use much powder at all.
You should see her with her tiny ear muffs and glasses!
Why do they need pay? The ones that aren't looting are in Las Vegas anyway.
Yep, all the freebee information everybody gets would be funnelled through services like Accuweather, like lightning strike information is now...
I refuse to do business with robber barons.
My taxes pay for this info - why should I have to pay for it twice so accuweather gets rich?
Watch it bud - that's my baby girl you are talking about. AND, you really don't want to get your butt kicked by her because she will hurt you.
La. is teetering on bankruptcy...this storm will send them over the edge.
If you have a life jacket, you may want to keep it handy. If you are somewhat elevated in comparison to the area around you, that could subject you to higher, unobstructed wind gusts. And the Neches is likely to be a lake the size of Sabine Lake by morning. You're in for an interesting 24 hours. God speed!
Cool! Did she mention from whom she will be getting the money?
They apparently either gave her too much- or not enough Xanax.
Skip the obvious bias from energy producers who want the money spent on their industry instead...this has some interesting background and history of the city.
Roof starting to rip off cover slips at marina next to me, waves crashing over marina bulkhead, boats rocking pretty good in thier slips, winds 40+ out of the north. Water still rising but rising very slowly.
Pokay has the attitude: "She'll Be Com'in Round The Mountain When She Comes!"
The Mayor of Houston just said.. unlike in Katrina, Texas will not blame FEMA on problems. The Feds are here as back up.
