IF the West Coast Eagles win tomorrow's AFL Grand Final, a bet between the New South Wales and WA premiers will see the Perth's team flag flying from the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
WA Premier Geoff Gallop said today he had made a bet with his NSW counterpart Morris Iemma on the outcome of the match between the Sydney Swans and the West Coast Eagles.
"If the Eagles win he'll fly the Eagles flag over the bridge and if the Swans win we'll hang the flag over Parliament," Dr Gallop said on ABC radio.
"That's the deal. When a premier commits you have got to follow up."
Dr Gallop said he would travel to Melbourne on the midnight flight from Perth in order to be at the game.
"I'm looking forward to the big game and I think Sydney versus Eagles have always played close ones. I think it will be a good one," he said.
All eyes will be on the MCG in Melbourne to see who will win the 2005 Australian Football League Premiership Cup in front of 90,000+ football fanatics.
My money is on the Sydney Swans to beat the West Coast Eagles from Perth.
Go Manly Sea Eagles!
Oops, wrong team.
The Swans look good, but the Eagles are tough. My team was always the Collingwood Magpies--what is this obsession with birds?? The Swans are currently leading in the who will win poll on the AFL site. Fingers crossed...
Is this televised live in the U.S.?
Not just the wrong team - wrong code!
I used to watch Aussie Rules back in college, it's been awhile though, but it's fun to watch.
It used to be. Not sure now. If so, it would obviously be on one of the sports channels.
This one could be worth watching!!
Doesn't matter where a bloke goes, I can't get away from bloody Collingwood supporters - they're EVERYWHERE!!!
For the record: GO THE MIGHTY RICHMOND TIGERS!
GOAL!
According to a newspaper story I saw today, it's being broadcast in the US on the Soccer Channel.
That should be nicely confusing to anyone who tunes in without knowing what they are seeing.
"HANDBALL! HANDBALL! GOOD GOD, THE REF REALLY IS BLIND!"
Yeah, not a lot in common!!!!
AUSTRALIAN troops serving in Iraq will be able to gather around TV screens across the war-torn nation tomorrow to watch Sydney take on the West Coast Eagles in the AFL grand final.
Australian Defence Force (ADF) communications technicians have been racing against the clock before tomorrow's grand final bounce, assembling, installing and testing nine satellite dishes around areas in the Middle East where Australian troops are deployed.
Signallers have been working in the heart of Baghdad installing a satellite dish for troops stationed there to watch the match and in the desert sands of southern Iraq so the 450 personnel in the Al Muthanna Task Group can cheer on their teams.
"It's a big task but they're quietly confident that when the umpire bounces the ball to start the Swans-Eagles grand final, a TV signal will bounce off a satellite high up in space and down into their dishes in the Middle East so ADF members can join the rest of Australia for that one day in September," the ADF said.

I hope the Diggers have a great day!
"And they need to put some air into that ball."
Go St. Kilda!!
I know, they aren't in, but they are my favorite...
Regards,
Sydney Swans rule!! All r-r-i-i-g-h-t-t!
A great win in a memorable Grand Final!
