It's not just the concept of sacrifice that's been lost; it's the idea of price of any kind. Everything should be handed to them for no cost at all.

You know, sort of like kids.

True; they only grasp the concept when it suits them. Unfortunately (for them), life doesn't work that way.

Absolutely fantastic post. You said what I wanted to, but was too busy muttering under my breath and throwing (soft) objects at the television.

Historical perspective is yet another thing the Left is lackiing.

By the standards of modern warfare, Iraq isn't squat so far as casualties. Hell, more people died at the ancient Battle of Marathon.

That won't keep the hysterics on the Left from spewing about it. They only wars they're interested in fighting are over condoms and bong hits.

Did you listen to Rush today! His thoughts exactly when confronted by an obvious lib with a moronic argument. Rush said: Why argue with an idiot. Next call.

The Left is all about gimmee, gimmee, gimmee...my rights, my entitlements. Self-sacrifice is an anathema.

Donahue is a deceitful little snake in the grass Communist. He doesn't come up to the boot tops of the lowest private in the Army.

AND the left's big three networks cannot sacrifice an hour a night to show us the daily military pressers in either Iraq or Afghanistan. No presser from either of those government officials either.

Why don't they want us to have information?

That is very true. Their ignorance and lack of scope based upon irrational hatred is insulting to any thinking or intellectual person. They think because they are leftists that they are anointed and morally superior to everyone. In my opinion they are nothing but shallow, presumptuous fools. I do like Rush and dismiss them as irrelevant. This angers them and they get downright nasty and violent. It is fun when this happens when they make threats and I dare them to do something about it. They back down because they know they will get their brains beaten in. My fuse is getting very short with a lot of these folks antics and I am not going to be so forgiving.

Here's another example. Every year, 60,000 Americans die. 60,000. From what, you might ask? Auto accidents. That's right. Yet you never hear the outrage from the Left, asking for the banning of cars from the road. You never hear them roar for the creation of 'independent commissions' for investigating why so many deaths have occurred. They simply shrug it off, tune it out, or ignore it.

But when it comes to the Iraq War, it's open season. They hound every solitary death statistic like vultures picking at a corpse. Their hypocrisy is so staggeringly obvious that it makes one gag.

Think what the reaction would be if Rush, at the end of his show every day, called off the names of gay men who had died of AIDS - in the same bullsh-t way Jim Lehr does on PBS? Liberals would be screaming ...

My fuse has been shortened for the last year or so. I find myself not returning phone calls and e-mails to my liberal friends. How I ended up with liberal friends is another story. But I am at the point where I don't put up with their liberal attitudes, and they can't listen to me cite facts and history without heads exploding. So, how do I continue friendships with people who are alien to me? I don't work very hard at it any more.

There comes a time in life when you have to make choices. Standing up for our country is one of them.

I like that! You are a rugged individualist and a person of courage.Your friends unfortunately are a bunch of pansies and they have moths flying inside their heads. You can better in the friends department.

In 2000, there were 3,482 unintentional drownings in the United States, an average of nine people per day.

I'm not saying that the 1900+ deaths are insignificant.

We could be further along in the war against terror and have sufferred fewer deaths if we used our technology and arms extensively. In the game of terror, it's the biggest 'terrorist' who wins. Ask a Nagasakian or Hiroshimanian. Think Iran would hesitate to smoke a western city with a nuke? Think again. They're committed to winning this 'war'.

You don't win a war by dying for your country but by making the other son-of-a-bitch die for his.(Patton?) The Arabs in the Middle East are in for some serious ass-kicking, sadly, it may take more than the twin towers to motivate us. But, it will happen. If the Left should take power and somehow 'unquagmire' us, it won't make a difference. Will probably only make matters worse in the long run. This 'war' will not end in a stalemate.

Your words are sad, but true. It's unfortunte that many Americans have already become so apathetic after 9/11.
