The planned International Freedom Center at Ground Zero got socked from two sides yesterday.

First, the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association joined city firefighters in blasting plans for the proposed center.

Then, three key New York congressmen threatened hearings into the appropriateness on federal funding at Ground Zero, unless the facility submits "an acceptable plan."

Good for those three congressmen. The site should be sacred and not some antiAmerican art fest.

Those three Congressmen have an (R) next to their names (surprise /sarcasm).

The problem facing Pataki and Bloomberg (more so Bloomberg since he is up for reelection) is that NYC, particularly Manhattan, is full of out-of-state leftists, who for the most part, remarkably, come from very well-off backgrounds (hence living in the most expensive city this side of Tokyo).

Native NYers (myself included) tend to be more traditionalist and conservative (as conservative as you get get here, lol). Union members, in particular, have been in a great bind since 9/11.

They want it to be a shrine to liberal stupidity.

This must be stopped.
