I wonder if the bus explosion might have been due to people smoking around the oxygen tanks, rather than a bus fire?

Probably an exploding oxygen tank.

Oxygen can't explode. It can contribute to something *else* exploding, but it doesn't itself explode.

Oxygen tanks are about a quarter inch of spun steel.

They do not explode.

Oxygen accelerates combustion, it does not explode.
