Bad "Flight Plan": Jodie Foster Film Defames Air Marshals, Flight Attendants (SPOILER ALERT)

It's been four years of bad news for flight attendants.

First, 9/11 happened. Then, they were laid off. With airline bankruptcies like Northwest's, they are being laid off again.

Now, in another blow, the movie, "Flight Plan," is hitting theaters, tomorrow. Starring Jodie Foster, it's an outrageous piece of propaganda and incredible display of the irresponsible.

I'm embarrassed to say that a very distant cousin of mine--Charles J.D. Schlissel--is executive producer of this outrage. The J.D. must stand for "Just Despicable." If you're a freedom-loving American like me, the rotten tricks of this movie will disgust you.

If you want to sicken yourself and see "Flight Plan," stop reading here. But if you want to save ten bucks, keep going.

It's bad enough that FBI Director Robert Mueller tried to dishonor Madeleine Amy Sweeney--one of the heroic, murdered flight attendants from 9/11--by giving a "former" Palestinian terrorist, Imad Hamad, an award (since revoked).

But Mueller tried to imply that the flight attendants were morally equivalent to Islamic terrorists.

Its a despicable movie. They demonize flight attendants and whitewash Arab terrorists. Save your money and don't see this one. As Debbie would point out, Hollywood's political correctness has gotten both sillier and more offensive with every passing year.

This is why I watched the Louie Lamour classic "The Sacketts" the other night. One of the best with Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott.

I haven't paid to see a famous idiot movie in 2 years.

I agree, of course Quiqley down under is one of those movies you stop and watch not matter where you pick it up.

I haven't been to the movie theater in over a year--and yet the movie industry struggles to find explanations of why their box office receipts are down.

I'm a former flight attendant who was working during and for two years after 9/11. My colleagues were on those planes. The stories we heard about what was going on would curl your hair. I hear about movies like this and it makes me want to smash every DVD I own (which isn't many) into tiny little pieces and mail them C.O.D. to Dreamworks, Geffen, Paramount, et al.

Well, it's certainly a hint, but I would not have guessed the full nature of the spoiler just from the headline. I mean, there are a lot of stereotypes of flight attendants and/or marshals from which I could choose...

My wife's former college roommate lives in NY. She knew half a dozen people that went down in the WTC. She has been devastated by the old media attacks on those who do not embrace the muslim community in an understanding and sensitive way.

Pray hollywood continues to decline in sync with the old media scum.

I predicted to my wife that it would be a standard "corporations are bad" before the end of it...I got it wrong, I guess....I guess I should have predicted the more obvious, more political, terrorists are good approach....

Thanks to all for this thread. I was trying to find a good plot spoiler because I knew, just knew, that this plot which seems pretty cool in the trailer would descend into political correctness....now I am confirmed not to see the movie.
