In the last year or so, Barbie dolls have all but disappeared from the shelves of many toy stores in the Middle East. In their place, there is Fulla, a dark-eyed doll with, as her creator puts it, "Muslim values.Fulla roughly shares Barbie's size and proportions, but steps out of her shiny pink box wearing a black abaya and matching head scarf. She is named after a type of jasmine that grows in the Levant, and although she has an extensive and beautiful wardrobe (sold separately, of course), Fulla is usually displayed wearing her modest "outdoor fashion."

So, what happens to the child who disrobes "Fulla"? Do they get the snot kicked out of them?
No jihad Ken doll?
Only if that child is a boy over 13.
Where's her burqa? And, she dosen't have any bruises or busted teeth.
Funny that they use roman letters to write "Fulla". I thought they were trying to counter decadent Western influence, LOL!
Muslim values. Underneath the black robe is a suicide bomb belt, some anthrax and sarin gas. Just out to do some infidels.
I don't think these dolls are made in any muslim country. None of them have factories.
Redneck Barbie needs a few tatoos. At the very least, an ankle tattoo.
Isn't Mattel a U.S. company?
I guess we won't be seeing a Fulla Corvette. Fulla isn't allowed to drive.
Beat her up Burkha Barbie in new Sharia 'black n blue' skin tone
"Isn't Mattel a U.S. company?"
So? This sort of thing will be applauded here.
If Mattel makes money off of this, what's the problem?
Let's see, how does it go... "Mattel is not an American company, it's a company. Mattel is in business to make money, not to help any cause, or government. Mattel has only one reason for existance, profit"
I believe I have the party line down.
"Muslim values.Fulla roughly shares Barbie's size and proportions"
Inculcating impossible ideals of feminine beauty AND inculcating guilt about displaying those proportions.
Poor girls will be emotional wrecks...
I wonder how she stacks compared to Barbie?
Hey there fellow Clevelander.
