A long and fascinating read. The story does not, of course, stop there. The fall of the Taliban will make an equally interesting read when the pertinent pieces are declassified. And, of course, it turns out that the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend at all. BTT.

Wouldn't the timing of all this be right for Ray McGovern and some of his clan to have possibly been involved?
I've not seen anything I can track back on Ray McGovern in reference to the Afghanistan war. Everything I've read about Gust Avrakotos, John Murtha, Charlies Wilson, I've been able to cross reference.
So I don't know.
