I read the book....it's excellent....and History channel did it well...
...Believe it or not, Sean Astin (Samwise from Lord of the Rings) has bought the rights to the book for a movie!

As I have mentioned several times on FR my grandfather was a survivor of the Galveston storm of 1900. The stories he told me when I was small are embedded in my mind like I experienced them. Issac's Storm is exactly what my grandfather told me many years ago.
