The 4 pm discussion is interesting. Not only is Rita undergoing an eyewall replacement cycle, but it's over a cold eddy in the Gulf right now. They thought about taking her down further, but she's leaving that cold eddy and headed for a hot one. Throw in expected increased shear and they're saying 125 knots up until 36 hours out, when the prediction becomes 120 (still a Cat 4 for those of you reading along) and landfall before 48 hours.
4 p.m. Livingston Parish public schools will be closed on Friday. All employees must report to work. Also, Ascension Parish public schools are closed tomorrow at well. Football games have been moved as well. St. Amant will now play Woodlawn Sunday at 3pm. Dutchtown will play at Denham Springs Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Also, Pointe Coupee Parish public schools and Iberville Parish Public schools will close Friday as well. No decision on EBR schools. Stay tuned to NewsRadio 1150 WJBO for an update.
Does any of this have to do with the obscure reference earlier about the tornados in Michigan?
(HAd my smoke and iced tea- ready for the next round)
Is Bastardi saying that Rita will loop back around and hang out in Texas?!
