Let me be more specific. He's not talking about a range designed for indoor use.

He's talking about a Coleman stove.

We use propane to cook with, to heat our hot water and in the fireplace. And we run a line from the same tank to the BBQ.

Correct. Rural areas that don't have natural gas pipelines available have big tanks of propane next to the house for water heater, furnace and gas range in my part of the country.
