Further info:

People are running out of gas on the freeways because they sat on the freeway so long. Other motorists are helping them to push their cars to the side of the road. Very orderly, no fights, etc. People being very cooperative.

FEMA has dispatched gasoline trucks to see to it that those people get gas. The gasoline trucks will navigate the traffic even if from the other side of the freeway.

Others have suffered from the heat. Ambulances have taken care of them.

Ok, maybe I'm way off base here, but if you aren't going anywhere, and there is a fuel shortage, wouldn't it make sense to turn your car off to conserve fuel so that you don't run out?

Too bad they can't refuel from the air like jets do! :)

I guess I'm thankful that I have only had to deal with tornados so far in my life time. Those come up so suddenly that you don't have mass evacuations like this.
