Just got back from mailing two boxes of clothes and sheets to LA, and a box of books and magazines to Kuwait for Tank. I keep forgetting how expensive shipping is!!

local news update on Rita situation:
Contra-flow is now open on I - 45 which goes up to Dallas.....from FM 1488 up to Buffalo.
Contra-flow is now open on I - 10 west starting at Hwy 6.....don't know where it stops but I heard them mention Seguin.
Contra-flow on Hwy 290 which goes Northwest to Austin will not be implemented because incoming will be needed for incoming assistance personnel.
Kathy, going South on I - 45 to I - 10 East was probably a snap for your family. I - 10 East is probably a parking lot although I haven't seen any video of it.

Hmm...too bad he couldn't do his PT test at 0200 when it's cooler! :)
At least he'll be able to start getting some decent sleep. The tents he's in don't have very good cooling systems, and his duty is from 0500-1300, so he's had a hard time sleeping until the temperatures drop, then it's practically time to get up again.
Guess I'm going to have to get used to functioning on 3-4 hours of sleep like he has! I would certainly get more done in a day, assuming I wasn't falling asleep all the time!

Yes it is. Got caught in a pretty bad storm last month come back from my sisters house. Had tornados all around us. Only had to pull over and take shelter once. Kids were scared. I'm glad when we pulled over and took cover nothing happened cause the darn lady at the gas station wouldn't let me bring my dog in with us.

Oh, and there are knuckleheads surfing in Galveston because of the high surf. :-)
