I have something to share, and I ask forgiveness in advance for using this thread instead of posting a stand-alone prayer thread. But, since she was fairly new here at FR and known mostly by people at the Canteen, I chose to post it only at the Canteen. There may be some of you at the Canteen who have not "meet" Celticlass before since she has been MIA since summer began, so if you are one of them you may ignore this post, if you so choose.

However, to save time and repeating myself, I want to tell everyone at once.

Some of you may know that Celticlass is a dear friend and sister (in-law). Anyway, we just found out yesterday that she has cancer. A tumor was found in her colon. She is due for surgery on Monday. The blood works has since revealed that the cancer is in her liver and lungs.

Her only brother, my first husband (and ex), passed away in 2000 from the same thing. Needless to say, we are all frantic, but believing and trusting in God to make it through.

We know the power of prayer, so I am asking those inclined to do so, please pray for Celticlass and her family. It will bring comfort to her and her family to know there are so many praying for her. If you want to share a word of encouragement, please FReepmail her.

Also, please say an extra prayer for her son, Rick. He will need extra strength because not only is he facing this ordeal with his mother, his new bride most likely has Hodgkins Disease. His bride, Lyndee, goes in for a biopsy this Friday. We are hopeful, since Hodgkins Disease is one of the easiest forms of cancer to cure. Her mother had it and beat it.
