Breaking: Jet Blue emergency landing, Long Beach, CA (UPDATE: Plane Landed Safely)

A Jet Blue aircraft just did a low altitude flyby of Long Beach airport after reporting some concern with their forward gear. The television helicopter caught an image of it - the gear is turned sideways and tilted.

Aircraft is heading out towards the ocean to drop fuel, will turn around, and attempt a 'soft field' landing, keeping the nose up as long as possible.

For all you guys ripping airbus planes, take a look at who built the planes in the last 5 or 6 crashes.

The latest one I remember is the one in Toronto where an Airbus slid off the runway and caught fire.

Can you make out the NAME of the plane? All of JetBlue aircraft have names like "Rhapsody in Blue"

This is what happened to the UAL Airbus a few years ago. Look at the nose gear, it is perpendicular to where it should be. Most likely it will not straighten out.
