A Jet Blue aircraft just did a low altitude flyby of Long Beach airport after reporting some concern with their forward gear. The television helicopter caught an image of it - the gear is turned sideways and tilted.
Aircraft is heading out towards the ocean to drop fuel, will turn around, and attempt a 'soft field' landing, keeping the nose up as long as possible.
Palladin,I was praying along also,Now... back to the humor!
No Larry, they're watching a documentary of the worlds worst airline disasters. This guy has less class than a skid row bum.
It's nice to hear from an optimist!
The mayor of Galveston is quite a lovely lady. She firmly but gently implores her people to leave, and THEN provides the means for them to do it!
I realize this will not be like NO. Texans are a different breed. And the officials all seem a whole lot more competent than in Louisiana.
"still didn't fix it...."
hairy stuff
Do you ever wonder why a moron like Larry King makes more money than most CEO's? It is one of life's inexplicable absurdities.
The blacks survived, even though Bush ordered their seats should be equipped with substandard flotation cushions.
"He once had both engine throttles retard to idle for no reason"
I have no idea what that means. But if "retard" is in there, it can't be good.
I would say that qualifies as equipment failure. Yikes!
Praise the Lord the ending of this tale was so uneventful... big Bravo Zulu's to the pilot, and the whole ensemble of safety crew.
I hate to say it, but I think Fox dropped the ball on this.
Or read the NYT/LAT/USAT
"touchdown.....so far so good."
"unreal, job well done."
Absolutely! Thanks for your comments.
I can still remember some of the passengers on my flight. One woman was 7 months pregnant with a three year old. Some were older men and women, and not so able to cope with the circumstances. There were some that were injured....minor cuts, but important to them at the time. All going down the inflatable slides........boarding the bus to the terminal...then being told that they'd have to wait three+ hours for their flight to their destination.
I feel for all of those who have had to experience this today. These people had to fly around for how many hours? All the while, thinking about what could happen? God bless them. The pilot/first officer did a wonderful job on the landing! So glad for the outcome!
Democrats: "The tires were flattened. They had no plan for ensuring that the tires didn't become flat. They could have done better."
Amen to that, glock. That landing was something else, wasn't it? Perfectly straight. There was a retired UA pilot who said that he just was admiring the pilot's skill...that this is NOT something they can train for...he was most impressed with the Pilot. (As are millions of others, no doubt).
They did the same thing last year, during the horrible fires in Southern California....they were covering a week old bombing in the Middle East, instead. They don't cover news...but they'll cover car chases without interruption.
I don't know if they are profitable, but every time I've used them it has been a good experience. The leather seats are a great idea, and their staff is exceedingly professional. Dealing with some airlines is like going to the DMV or Post Office (only slightly less painful then going to the dentist).
