A Jet Blue aircraft just did a low altitude flyby of Long Beach airport after reporting some concern with their forward gear. The television helicopter caught an image of it - the gear is turned sideways and tilted.
Aircraft is heading out towards the ocean to drop fuel, will turn around, and attempt a 'soft field' landing, keeping the nose up as long as possible.
Where's the mayor?

For all you current or ex Angelenos...leave it to Paul Moyer on KNBC Channel 4. The door of the plane just opened, and Paul asks the KNBC reporter at the airport, "So what happens now, do you think that the crew will get off first?"
Yeah, Paul. The six crew members will get off and say to the passengers, "See ya all later."
He is the absolute worst reporter.
Thank the good Lord. What a beautiful landing. I can't even imagine what the crew and passengers must be feeling right now...and their families. They don't even need to use the shutes..amazing!

I'm sure there'll be some just explaining all the procedures and their thoughts (which we can only guess are similar to what we'd be thinking). See passengers debarking now....
