I can't help but think that Bush and Rove are directing this one toward Houston to get all the people who were evacuated from New Orleans that he missed with Katrina. How diabolical those two are. A left and an undercut. Ali was never that good.

O God our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home!

We are about 150 miles from the coast here in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. However, Jackson, Mississippi took a nasty hit despite of it's distance from the Gulf of Mexico.
So far, the Austin City Limits festival is on here in Austin.

Latest aqs of 2:15PM:
DATA FROM RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT RITA HAS INTENSIFIED
A LITTLE MORE AND WINDS HAVE REACHED 150 MPH WINDS WITH A MINIMUM
PRESSURE OF 920 MB. THIS MAKES RITA A STRONG CATEGORY FOUR
HURRICANE.

You all are and will be in our prayers. This is going to be a mega storm unless something unforseen happens. I hope all FReepers in the area will stay in touch as much as is possible and check back when all is clear. God keep you.

You, prayers is right.
I just called my friend in San Antonio and told him that if he got a chance to do any looting, he should pick me up a pair of size 11 cowboy boots. And some pinatas and some tequila.

It is just so saddening that the very state that responded the quickest and did the most to help the evacuees of NO, is now the target of a terrible storm, Rita. It just seems the cruelest of ironies.
Does this strike anyone else this way?

Our son lives in S.A. Does anyone know if SA will also be hit? Prayers to all that will be affected by RITA.

May God reach down His mighty hand and ease the storms and protect all those in its path. Amen.
Will be praying much over the next days...
To: TXBSAFH
You've got our prayers...now get the h-e-double toothpicks out of there!
Find some school bus drivers!
Put all your TVs, stereos, compact refrigerators, Boze radios, flat screen displays, PCs, and other assorted electrical/electronic products out in plain site so your looters don't have to trash your home looking for it.
And if you're staying around...I'd suggest arming yourself.
And get a good pair of water wings.

I live about two hundred miles north of Houston, and the main thing people inland will need to worry about would be tornadoes and flooding.
To: Strutt9
Just looked, only one computer model put SA into play. Rita would have to come in way south in order for SA to be involved.
