I hope they don't try to make people leave their pets behind. A lot of people would risk their lives and stay with the pets.

So far every report I've heard has said they can take their pets as long as the pets are in pet crates.

Anyone under mandatory evac in TX can bring one pet in a small carrier (and one small soft bag, like a duffel bag, for their own personal stuff).

I heard the mayor of Galveston this morning on FOX- she said pets are welcome BUT they must be in their cages. Lesson learned.

After what they saw in N.O.'s, people not leaving 'cause of their pets, all pets are allowed to go with them. They've got to have them in carriers...no problem taking pets.

Agree. Besides that, sheltering and feeding thousands of rescued lost pets costs a small fortune. They are literally begging for pet food from Katrina. And these pets still remain homeless :(
