Obviously, we cannot allow the NY Slimes to be subjected to market forces. Someone needs to call for socialized newspapers at least that is, for those newspapers run by socialists who cannot put out a competitive product in the marketplace.

500 sounds so much better than 4%.
To: Jan Hus
Yea. I hope this is just another step in the New York Times' ultimate demise.

How does the NYT keep 12,500 people busy?

Hi LdSentinal-
"...Why didn't Willie Green post this article?..."
Willie Green wasn't pinged to the article above or otherwise wasn't aware of it.

It's a slippery slope their on now. They'll have to start putting half nekkid photos of Jessica Simpson on page one now, with headlines like, "Is it over between her an Nick?", just to compete with the other tabloids.

And Little Pinch is charging $50 for readers to read liberal columnists no one cares about. Go figure.

Perhaps some constructive solutions are in order here. Maybe the NYT should raise the price of a paper to $5.00 and devote the increased revenue to rehiring these employees. Should work as well as the tax increases the old gray hag relentlessly advocates, just ask Krugman.
