FReeper Recall of City Council (Vanity)
DHS Recall ^ | September 19, 2005 | BJungNan

Posted on 09/19/2005 7:37:19 PM PDT by BJungNan

Okay, I've done all I can to make sure this vanity is properly posted under the vanity headings. I've been posting here a long time, so no grief from anyone over this.

We are looking for a Freeper critique on the Recall of our city council here in California and specifically our website just launched. Actually, you are getting the first look at it.

Other than a few FReepers near by, this may be of limited interest, but consider it a favor to a fellow FReeper. We are not looking for hits - It is such a local issue we will likely get every potential visitor we need.

With FR experts and ever on every imaginable subject and some otherwise darn smart people, I thought I would give this a try.

Thanks for you help.

FReepRegards, BJungNan

Should you put some information on there about why you think they should be recalled? What is their crime or crimes?

I read it three times??

This says they have caused damage and they have done some egregious.

What did they do?

The web site looks attractive and has a lot of good info, but it's buried in secondary pages.

I think you should have some of the most vital allegations (very short and concise statements) on the front page in a (numbered list) format,
  1. allegation one
  2. allegation two
  3. allegation three

with each allegation linking to the appropriate full facts page of that allegation.

IMHO, your home page makes an assumption that all local visitors would be aware of all the allegations against those you want recalled. This may be true in a very small town, but is still a presumptuous and needless assumption on your part.

In fact, there may be many local residents unaware of most of the problems, if not all of them.   I would at least give them some reason to check out the full details.

Hope this helps.

FReegards,
RT

Wow, thanks. Your question is very good input. You can put something together think you have answered question and the impression that comes back is you have not.

Thanks. Very much appreciated.

This says they have caused damage and they have done some egregious.

You have to go to the second page (click the Enter link) And on that, don't worry, It only take you to the meat (or what we think is) of the site. What they did. There is more, but this is our start.

For the very reason's you state, I have always hated Start Pages, which is what we have on the opening page. Perhaps we got caught up in the little catch we built into it, that if you want to see more and even if you are against the recall, you still have to click yes I am for it to move on to the next page. Thanks. We will rethink this and likely do what you say.
